The centrifugal Slurry Pump utilizes the centrifugal force generated by a rotating impeller to impart kinetic energy to the slurry in the same manner as clear liquid type centrifugal pumps.
Slurry pumps are used widely throughout the beneficiation section of the mining industry where most plants use wet separation systems. These systems usually move large volumes of slurry through the process.
Slurry pumps are also widely used for the disposal of ash from fossil fuel power plants. Other areas where slurry pumps are used include the manufacture of fertilizers, land reclamation, mining by dredges, and the long distance transportation of coal and minerals.
Slurry pumps can be made into different materials based on various applications. Generally, it is divided into metal lined and rubber lined. And there are alternative materials for both metal and rubber linings.
Telling from the shaft construction, there are Horizontal Slurry Pumps and vertical slurry pumps.
